Future Materials Norwegian Catapult Centre
Elkem co-owns Future Materials, a national test and development centre that offer test facilities, competence and a professional network for developing sustainable advanced materials and circular solutions for your products and processes. The services offered through Future Materials Norwegian Catapult Centre are an extension of the services customers and collaborating partners previously have been offered at Elkem Pilot Plant and complementary departments.

Future Materials Norwegian Catapult Centre was established in 2017 and consists of:

- Elkem
- Mechatronics Innovation Lab (MIL)
- ReSiTec
- University of Agder
- Norner (From 2019)
The Norwegian Catapult Centre Scheme, where Future Materials spearheads the focus on materials technology, offers customers the necessary industrial test facilities and equipment to pilot, up-scale and grow their business ideas and solutions.
Companies, with special emphasis on SME’s and entrepreneurs, are offered expertise within a broad range of disciplines within materials technology from metallurgy, polymers, composites and circular solutions to powder technology, additive manufacturing and 3D-printing among other topics.
