The blog post was written by Raghed Saadieh, 2nd year trainee in Elkem.
Do you like tasty food that tingle your senses? Then Elkem have you covered. The social dinners we had were nothing short of amazing! To name a few, we tried Icelandic, Spanish, and Italian cuisines, in addition to a restaurant, which served a fusion of Japanese and south American dishes. In my biased opinion, the star of the show was Kjallarinn, due to the wide selection of gin and tonics served and the enthusiasm of the headwaiter!

If you think that was it for the trip, you had better hold on! I mean it literally since it was time for the Golden Circle tour in a monstrous SUV!

We visited many of Iceland’s attractions like the largest Icelandic national park Thingvellir, the famous great Geysir and his smaller brother Strokkur, and the Gullfoss waterfalls. And along the way we passed by many Icelandic horses farms.

The weather was awful but it did not stop us from enjoying every moment!

After the long trip the previous day, it was time to relax. And no! We did not spend the day sleeping and instead we visited the world famous Blue lagoon. Swimming in the blue mineral rich water was a great experience and I would certainly recommend it!

In addition, during our plant visit, we learned many tips and tricks from the professional photographer who was accompanying us (I will keep the reason why as a secret, maybe you can guess it by yourself!). We applied those ‘Art of posing’ techniques through our trip, which helped Benedicte in taking some amazing photos!
8: The Art of Posing
This was the end of our trip, and if you look closely at the last photo, I think you can clearly see that we, Elkem trainees, are ready to climb the steep path ahead. And remember, it might be difficult and you might lose some battles, but you should always thrive to win the war!
