Job Purpose :
The objective of the position is to support the line (division, regional operations, plant manager and HSE manager) in the management of HSE work in the division and at plants. This includes coordination and collaboration of activities between plant, division and corporate as well as a responsibility to initiate and follow up improvement processes, including utilizing synergy effects and economies of scale.
- Assure global coordination and coherence of HSE management across ESD
- Ensure a harmonised HSE approach for all regions/countries/sites
- Ensure legal and market regulatory HSE compliance of the entire ESD product portfolio
- Maintain our licence to operate in the countries where we manufacture and sell our products through deployment of best practices from both Elkem & Sinochem systems and development of methodology & divisional HSE standards, programs, procedures, and tools.
Job Description :
- Lead global reporting initiatives and harmonise ESD communication to and from corporate HSE function
- Ensure a harmonised approach for all regions/countries/sites, including deployment of best practices from both Elkem & Sinochem systems and development of methodology & divisional HSE standards, programs, procedures, and tools
- Participation of steering committees of major investments and strategic projects to offer expert opinion and recommendation to aid decision making
- Work hand-in hand with PSRA and Quality directors and their teams to ensure compliance at all levels worldwide
- Strong support to all three regional operational HSE teams, including HSE audits / reviews and contributions to necessary improvements
- To build a global vision to assure available expertise to support regions on critical items such as:
- Technology & Process Safety
- Environmental Science
- Health and Safety
- Transport and storage of Dangerous Goods
Job Requirement (experience & key skills):
- High level of expertise on HSE matters with a minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE related functions including manufacturing with HSE responsibilities
- Working knowledge of global regulatory schemes
- Excellent knowledge of silicone chemistry and ESD product portfolio, applications, and markets
- Excellent knowledge of silicone technology and processes
- Experience with developing and implementing HSE strategies in large, international organizations
- Leadership - Ability to « Impact and influence » with capacity to work in a global network without direct hierarchical authority on regional HSE teams
- Excellent and proven communication and influencing skills
- Language – a high level of spoken and written English is essential – French and Chinese beneficial
- Willing and able to travel internationally to the 3 regions on a regular and frequent basis
