US, York, SC Process Analytical Chemist (2022-95)

There is currently an opening for an Analytical Chemist in York, SC. We are seeking an Analytical Chemist who has chemistry, GDP, method development, and validation experience to fill this position. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and validating analytical test methods for materials to meet Customer and Market needs. The incumbent will organize and evaluate analytical results and testing in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, standard operating procedures, and guidelines. They will also be responsible for data management and recordkeeping of this information. The primary function will be to perform chemical and quantitative analysis of silicon- based products for quality and product development in support of strategic business markets. This will include the development of test methods in which they will train the Quality team on for current and new products.

Key activities will include performing physical, chemical, molecular, and elemental analysis, facilitating trials including analysis of statistical data, project management and safety, performing instrument maintenance, and writing standard operating procedures and test methods. Based on their analytical expertise, the incumbent in this role provides advice and guidance to manufacturing, quality, regulatory compliance, and supply chain as needed regarding product compliance. The individual must be an independent, self-starter and extremely self-motivated to stay focused.


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Polymer or other Physical discipline, or related chemical experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in chemical manufacturing environment in analytical chemistry with knowledge of manufacturing practices, validation practices, and instrument maintenance. Experience with silicones is a plus.
  • Experience with analytical test methods for molecular, physical, and elemental characterization including: DSC, TGA, Rheometer, SEM-EDS, GC-FID, GCMS, GPC, HPLC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, NIR, ICP (or AA or XRF), Karl Fischer, Texture Analyzer
  • Experience with GDP strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to use these skills to develop working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Detail oriented and highly organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
  • Basic understanding of Regulatory affairs, related to business applications
  • Focus on safe working practices in an industrial chemical environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Design of Experiments software and statistical analysis techniques and tools.
