Richard Olav Aa

Mr. Richard Olav Aa has broad experience from top level positions and board work. He has been executive senior vice president and group chief financial officer of Telenor ASA (2010-2016), chief investment officer of Arendals Fossekompani ASA (2008-2010), chief executive officer of Norsk Vekst ASA (2005-2008), group chief financial officer of Elkem (1999-2005) and executive vice president corporate development of Bertel O. Steen. Earlier he had various positions in Elkem (1991-1998).

In addition, he is chair of the board of Global Wind Service a/s (Denmark), vice chairman of the board of NHST Media Group ASA (listed), chair of the board of Cenate AS, and a member of the board of Fred. Olsen Renewables AS, Fred. Olsen Seawind ASA, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier ASA and Fred. Olsen Cruiselines Ltd. (UK).

Richard Olav Aa today works as chief financial officer of Fred. Olsen & Co, a privately held management company, managing investments within renewable energy, wind service, cruise, media, real estate and financial investments. He has a degree of siviløkonom (similar to master’s) from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), in addition to courses at Stanford University and IMD.
