Bluestar Silicones unveils BLUESIL™ SP 3308, a high-performance superspreading adjuvant for crop care

Lyon, France — October 13, 2026 — Bluestar Silicones, a leading global silicone solutions provider, today unveiled BLUESIL™ SP 3308, a high-performance trisiloxane-based superspreading silicone adjuvant for crop care applications. Designed to enhance the performance of crop protection products on hydrophobic leaf surfaces, it helps formulators and growers optimize spray coverage while supporting more efficient use of agricultural inputs.

Janet KAY, Performance Chemistry Regional Marketing Manager

"BLUESIL™ SP3308 brings silicone superspreading performance to crop care formulations where spray coverage and resource efficiency are critical," said Janet KAY, Performance Chemistry Regional Marketing Manager. "At treatment rates below 0.1%, it helps maximize the value of crop protection products by improving wetting and spreading performance. This can support more efficient spray application, including reduced spray volumes and optimized active ingredient delivery."

By significantly reducing surface tension, the new surfactant enables rapid wetting, extensive spreading and enhanced penetration on hydrophobic leaf surfaces. Suitable for both formulated products and tank-mix applications, it can provide up to ten times greater spreading than conventional surfactants, helping improve plant-surface coverage at lower spray volumes and supporting more efficient delivery of crop protection actives.

Visitors to ABIM 2026, taking place from 20-22 October in Basel, Switzerland, can meet the Bluestar Silicones team at Hall 4.1, Booth 178 to discover how its latest superspreading silicone adjuvant supports enhanced crop protection performance and more efficient spray application.
