Elkem Silicones Guangdong Co Ltd

In April 2020, Elkem ASA officially announced that Elkem Silicones Guangdong Co., Ltd. (formerly Guangdong Polysil Technology Co., Ltd.) and its subsidiary Elkem Silicone Material (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. (formerly Zhongshan Polymer Chemical Material Co., Ltd.) have been integrated into the Elkem Silicones business division.

Elkem Silicones Guangdong Co., Ltd. (now referred to as Elkem Guangdong) was founded in 2009 and is located in the Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. The factory covers an area of 40,000 square meters and has a staff of 50 qualified technicians and over 300 employees, working in production and support services.

Elkem Guangdong, focused on customized services, specializes in the production of liquid silicone rubber, solid silicone rubber and other silicone products. As a company, it develops, produces, and sells silicone materials throughout China. The factory produces nearly 6,000 tons of liquid silicone rubber and 10,000 tons of solid silicone rubber every year.

Since it was established, Elkem Guangdong has always placed technological innovation at the core of its business. Its R&D Center is spread over 5,000 square meters, including 2,500 square meters for its Synthetic Experiment Center and 1,500 square meters for its Testing and Analysis Center, which houses several state-of-the art laboratories: spectroscopy, chromatography, thermal analysis, chemical testing, electrical performance testing, thixotropic fluid viscosity testing and comprehensive material performance testing. The silicone materials it produces are widely used in diverse applications: food contact, healthcare, energy, electronics, power transmission and distribution, automotive & transport and other industries.

Elkem Silicone Material (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. (now referred to as Elkem Zhongshan), was founded in 2010, and is a high-tech and high-growth enterprise located in Guangdong Province and serving all of China. Its factory is in the Shazi Industrial Zone, Minzhong Town, Zhongshan City, and covers an area of 15,000 square meters. It has three main production lines, making pressure sensitive adhesives, MQ resins and printing ink. In all, this facility has a capacity to produce 2,000 tons of silicone pressure sensitive adhesives and release agents and 700 tons of silicone-based printing inks and coatings every year.

Elkem Zhongshan is strongly focused on the R&D and production of special silicone coating materials, including pressure sensitive adhesives, release agents, bonding additives, silicone resins and special printing inks, all of which are well-known and appreciated by its customers for their excellent quality.
