Elkem recarburizers for the best performance on dissolution rate

Recarburizers are used in the production of high-grade steel, grey and ductile iron castings. Elkem’s ELGRAPH™ recarburizers have proven to give excellent performance on dissolution rate and carbon recovery, with extremely low nitrogen/hydrogen content.

ELGRAPH™ recarburizers are carbon additives manufactured at high temperatures from selected raw materials specifically for use as re­carburizers during cast iron and steel pro­duc­ti­on Elkem’s production process, with continuous calcining up to 3000 °C, gives an extremely stable product, where the high performance is constant, vs many other materials in the market (often based on a batch process or sourced graphite).

ELGRAPH™ Premium recarburizer

ELGRAPH™ Premium recarburizer is specially formulated as a carbon raiser for steel and grey iron castings, with particular emphasis on high purity, high carbon recovery, rapid solubility and good reproducibility. ELGRAPH™ Premium Grade Recarburizer with its' low nitrogen content is especially suited for production of grey iron and some ductile operations. The technology developed for ELGRAPH™ Premium product is based on knowledge gained from 100 years of Elkem electrode paste production. Selection, control and testing of raw materials optimise production based on customer needs. Our high-temperature electric calcining process ensures maximum crystallinity of the final product which enhances purity and solubility. ELGRAPH™ Premium recarburizer is available in size grading 0-0.5mm and 0.5 - 5mm.

ELGRAPH™ Superior recarburizer

ELGRAPH™ Superior Grade recarburizer is specially formulated as a carbon raiser for ductile iron, with particular emphasis on high purity, high carbon recovery, rapid solubility and very low content of sulphur, nitrogen and hydrogen. It may also be used for final trimming of grey iron. Its' high dissolution rate makes it very suitable in the carbon adjustment phase of melt preparation.

The technology developed for ELGRAPH™ Superior product is based on knowledge gained from 100 years of Elkem electrode paste production. Selection, control and testing of raw materials optimise production based on customer needs. Our high-temperature electric calcining process ensures maximum crystallinity of the final product which enhances purity and solubility. ELGRAPH™ Superior recarburizer is available in size grading 0-0.5mm and 0.5 - 5mm.
